Lazy Weekend and Expo Park!

So Last weekend was pretty fun. We had a rainy day party on Friday with the other English teachers. Erin cooked stir fry and then we played cards, dice and dominoes until pretty late. We may or may not have had too much Soju, its hard to tell when you mix it in your beer! Needless to say we woke up very early(in the afternoon) on Saturday and Michael, one of the English teachers cooked pancakes for the crew. We then parted ways and spent the rest of the day nursing our hang overs.

On Sunday we decided not to be lazy anymore and went and explored expo park. It is the former site of the Daejeon 1993 worlds fair. We saw some interesting sites but when we found an old abandoned site called "star quest." We wanted to see more so we found a way in. Jesse, the veteran teacher had already done this once, but without a flashlight, so we had some what of a guide. Fortunately this time Michael had a flashlight, and our cell phone has a flash light built into it.

It was a a big abandoned building in the shape of the jawa crawler in star wars. It was really run down with water leaking in from mulitple spots and the ceiling collapsing in hallways. It was a very creepy experience walking through the run down site, easily the scene of a new horror movie starring us. There was tons of electrical equipment, lightning, sound systems, exhibits, rides, chairs, even a couple cars and a motorcycle abandoned in a forgotten garage. We walked around here for an hour, almost certain we were going to be the unwilling participants in the blair witch project's sequel before we found our way back to the entrance and escaped unscathed.

We then found a way to get into the amusement park for free and went in and rode the roller coaster there and drank the biggest pitcher of beer I have ever seen. It was getting late and it was well past dinner time at this point so we decided to head back towards home and eat some Dalk Galbi which has become one of my favorite Korean dishes. It will be our next feature in Seoul Food, so stay tuned!
