If you take a 20 minute bus ride from our apartment there is a relatively large mountain with numerous hiking trails. We went with some friends on Saturday. There are tons of shops and restaurants at the foot of the mountain with ajummas and aggashis vending traditional goods and foods. We were allured by some minature-like plums and then decided to venture up the mountain.
We hiked a few miles to a temple and then lugged our butts a bit farther to one of the seven peaks. The paths were covered by woods, streams, and sheets of rock. We now fear that ticks may be invading our brain - j/k. Along the way we also saw an old man selling soju...I guess booze takes away the burn. We decided against wetting our palates before embarking on the steep incline ahead. It was a wise decision as the billion stairs appeared endless. It was a bit foggy, but the view was still worth the pain!
One of the biggest highlights were the signs along the path. Note the teddy bear like "smoky the bear" sign which says warning: SLIPPERLY. I love it.
