IT'S OFFICIAL...WE ARE 3 MONTHS IN!
One thing you recognize quickly while living in a foreign country is the things you took for granted at home. For example, potable tap water, burrito stands on every corner, garbage cans in the street, and most importantly -- your couch.
Now, in all actuality, the majority of Korean homes probably have couches these days. However, working with a budget, we started with the bare minimum in our apartment which = pillows and a table (see above). A little while later we upgraded to a larger yo mat. But, this week, we broke barriers and got a couch thanks to a belated bday gift of money from mom. A Korean teacher helped us order it online and it was delivered/assembled for free. It was no Ikea 5-hour picture assembly project. Whoo - whoo!
So you spoiled folks in the homeland should give your couch a little extra appreciation today. After all, it could just be a pillow ; )
